Google Play feature graphic & promo video
Google Play has no uploaded App Preview equivalent. The promo video is a YouTube link, and the feature graphic is the required static image that sits above the fold on the listing. (Play Store icon size lives on the app icon sizes reference.)

The gotcha that catches most developers
App Preview video pixel dimensions are not the same table as screenshot pixel dimensions, even for the same device class. The clearest case: the iPhone 4.0" screenshot bucket is 640×1136, but the iPhone 4.0" App Preview video bucket is 1080×1920. Reusing a screenshot export as a video source, or assuming the two size charts line up, is the single most common reason a preview upload gets rejected on the first try.
Cross-check against screenshot sizes and device resolution lookup if you're exporting both from the same source footage.

What resolution should an App Store preview video be?
It depends on the device size you are targeting, and it is not the same table as screenshot resolutions. Current iPhone classes (6.9", 6.5", 6.3", 6.1") all use 886x1920 portrait / 1920x886 landscape. Older Plus-size and SE-class iPhones use 1080x1920 or 750x1334. iPad classes mostly use 1200x1600 portrait / 1600x1200 landscape, except the oldest 9.7" bucket at 900x1200. Mac and Apple TV are landscape-only at 1920x1080, and Vision Pro is landscape-only at 3840x2160.
Is the App Preview video resolution the same as the screenshot resolution for that device?
Usually yes for current devices, but not always - the iPhone 4.0" class is the clearest exception: its screenshot bucket is 640x1136, while its App Preview video bucket is 1080x1920. Always check the video table separately rather than assuming your screenshot export sizes carry over.
How long can an App Store preview video be?
Between 15 and 30 seconds. Apple rejects anything outside that range. Most high-performing previews land closer to 18-22 seconds - long enough to show real product value, short enough that a muted autoplay viewer does not scroll past before the payoff.
Can I use the same footage for every device size and localization?
You can upload one master preview and let Apple scale it to the other device sizes, but each App Store localization needs its own preview if you want to replace on-screen text baked into the footage. A German or Japanese viewer otherwise sees English UI in a muted, auto-playing video, which is exactly the moment localization matters most.
What are the Google Play equivalents of an App Preview and its poster frame?
Google Play has no uploaded preview video - the "promo video" field is a YouTube URL that Play embeds on the listing next to the required 1024x500 feature graphic (JPG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha). There is no separate poster-frame setting; YouTube's own thumbnail behavior applies.
