Uploading screenshots

Add your raw app captures to a Shotlingo project and place them on the canvas.

Shotlingo does not capture screenshots from your app. You take them from the simulator or a real device, then upload the image files here and build the marketing frame around them.

Add your images

  1. 1 Open the Uploads tab in the left sidebar of the editor.
  2. 2 Drag your image files onto the panel, or select the upload area to open a file picker.
  3. 3 Wait for the thumbnails to appear. Uploads are stored with the project, so they are available on every page.
  4. 4 Select a thumbnail to drop that image onto the current page.

Getting clean source captures

  • Capture at the native resolution of the device you are targeting. Upscaling a small capture will look soft once it is framed.
  • Use PNG for the source files. Screenshot UI has hard edges and flat colour, which JPEG artifacts show up on.
  • Take the capture with realistic content in it. Empty states and placeholder text are the most common reason a screenshot set underperforms.
  • Hide any personal data before you upload.

An uploaded image belongs to the project, not the page. Deleting it from a page leaves it in the Uploads panel so you can reuse it.
