Understanding the canvas editor

A tour of the Shotlingo editor: the sidebar tabs, the canvas, and the properties panel.

The editor has three regions. The left sidebar holds your content sources, the middle holds the canvas, and the right holds the properties of whatever you have selected.

The left sidebar

  • Templates: prebuilt layouts you can drop in and edit.
  • Mockups: the device frame library.
  • Elements: shapes, stickers, and decorative art.
  • Text: headline and body text blocks.
  • Uploads: your own image files.
  • Pages: the screenshots in this project, in store order.
  • Layers: the stacking order of objects on the current page.
  • Languages: your translation targets.

The canvas

The canvas is the actual screenshot at store resolution. Select an object to move it, drag a corner handle to resize, and drag just outside a corner to rotate. Zooming does not change the export; it only changes how much of the canvas you can see.

The properties panel

With an object selected, the right panel exposes Fill, Stroke, Effects, Typography, Translations, and Transform. Typography holds font, size, weight, and alignment. Transform holds exact position, size, and rotation values if you would rather type a number than drag.

Changes save to the cloud automatically. There is no separate save button.
