Game App Screenshot Templates
Games are the category where the store grid is most hostile: the buyer is scrolling a wall of bright artwork and deciding in well under a second. The listings that survive show a board mid-move rather than a title card, because the question being answered is "what do I actually do with my thumbs", and key art answers a different one.

What the first screenshot has to do
Gameplay, mid-state, with the stakes visible: moves left, the clock running, one square from a solve. A logo splash in frame one spends the only impression you get on a name nobody knows yet.
What gets games listings rejected or ignored
- Renders and key art that no part of the game looks like, which converts and then churns on day one.
- Screenshots that advertise mechanics the build does not have, the classic App Review rejection in this category.
- Leaderboards populated with invented player names and scores, presented as a live community.
- Frames dense with UI chrome such as currencies, timers and three banner slots, which reads as a game built around its store rather than its play.
Localising these screenshots
Games carry more baked-in text than any other category and the expansion is brutal: German and Turkish routinely run a third longer than English, and a button that fits at "Play" does not fit at "Oynamaya başla". Numerals matter too, since Arabic-script markets may expect Eastern Arabic digits on a score. Keep every label, score and button in a text layer, and leave room in the frame for the longest market you intend to ship.
Every template here exports at 1290×2796 for App Store Connect and translates into 40+ languages in one pass. If you are unsure which locales your listing actually needs, the App Store locale code reference lists every one Apple supports, and the text expansion calculator shows how far each language will stretch your headline before you commit to a layout.
